This piece of technology has many many uses in a classroom. I could see me using this as a way to communicate with parents of all different age students. In older grades it could be used as a debate forum or a way to answer questions for the students. In younger grades it could be used to communicate happenings or certain memories, photos, or videos with the students families, and on certain occasions the students could write on their in the younger grades.

I think that this would be very useful in making some projects for each kid when the year is over. it could be like a personalized look back at their journey through kindergarten. It would also be a way to display multiple ideas on one topic to teach the students in a fun and creative way.

Assignment 12: Mindmap

This picece of technology could be very useful in teaching. It allows for more complex types of ideas or thinking to be broken down and studied individually. It allows multiple ideas to be displayed and linked together. This allows students to display all of their ideas together for discussion. It would allow students to build critical thinking skills together, and build plans and work out problems together. It could show how all ideas relate together to build on top of each other. It has many different uses in the future of education and teaching.



Assignment 10: Wikis

I have read about two really good ways for teachers to use wikis in their classrooms. The first way that I thought that wikis was of good use in the classroom was on posting remedial work for those students that were falling behind or struggling in class. It provided more work to help them with the subject matter. The second way that i thought was a good use of wikis was to post all of the materials that the students were covering and displayed it for all the parents to see. This would be helpful for the parents to know exactly what the child is learning and give them the ability to help the child at home. Wikis seems to be a very useful resource for students, teachers, and parents.

These are the three blogs that I follow on a normal basis. I found these blogs by searching on my google reader account for educational blogs, and I also searched on the internet for blogs by teachers of younger grades. I use my cell phone and my personal computer to access these blogs. I can also access them through my google reader account.

Assignment 8: Altered Image

I went on to the website called image chef and altered my image to create a cute little Christmas picture. Once I got on image chef I went to create and then I used a picture that was already on my computer. I just had to upload it to the website. Once the picture was displayed I had to crop it. Then  all I had to do was pick the frame that I wanted to put the picture in. It then gave me this lovely Christmas themed picture of myself. Here is a link to the website I used: www.imagechef.com

This photo is from Eastern Washington College. I decided to write about this photo because it says so much in so few words. With education comes the opportunity for anything. Education is something that should be important to everyone. I think that it is important for all kids to know how important education is and should be to them. I think that I would use flickr in the classroom because it allows me to search for images that are relevant to my subject topic and all of the images are copyright protected in some way and I am able to share them and do not have to worry about running into and copyright problems. It just has many features that will come in handy in the future.

I have never really done much with blogs before this class but I have really enjoyed setting up my blog in Educ 3040. I find the blog to be very interesting because it has showed me many things that I didn't know was out on the internet.It is much simpler than I ever thought it would be to set up my own blog. I think that it will be a very useful tool in communicating with others. The main reasons why I would use a blog once I become a teacher is to relate to my parents, students, and other colleagues. It will also help me to collaborate with other teachers from all over the world. It allows me to post some of my ideas and it puts me into the blogging community to view others ideas on teaching certain content and teaching strategies.
